My name is Aalia Asif. I am 10 years old and I attend Dubai English Speaking School (DESS) in Dubai. My heart is set on helping children in Pakistan and other countries get the education they need so that they can get their dream jobs such as a doctor, a teacher, a lawyer and much more. 

Since I live in the UAE, I feel truly grateful to have access to excellent education. Tragically, this is not the case for a huge amount (26.2 million and rising) of less privileged children in Pakistan who cannot afford to pay for school and other resources needed. Alarmingly, out of every 10 children that are of school going age in Pakistan, 4 children do not attend at all, 3 children attend but do not receive the level of education they need, and only 3 children receive proper teaching. This is a reoccurring problem in Pakistan. 

The Citizens Foundation (TCF) is a well-managed, non-profit organisation that constructs and runs formal schools in Pakistan's urban slums and rural regions. The Economist has called TCF “perhaps the largest network of independently run schools in the world”

Thanks to TCF, 2,033 schools have been built across Pakistan for children who were out of school. Today, TCF is the largest private employer of women in Pakistan with an all-female faculty of 14,700 teachers and principals. As of now, TCF has around 301,000 worthy children enrolled. 

This summer, I am engaging in the TCF ambassadors of change programme. I am gathering funds for TCF to help them support the education of underprivileged children in Pakistan because learning has the power to change millions of lives! Your generosity could add up to supporting a whole classroom (approximately 25 children) for 1 year and transform their lives profoundly.
