Hello, we are Maha and Zayn. 17 and 12 years old and currently studying at Horizon International School in Dubai. Living in a country like the UAE, we’ve had the privilege of receiving a high-quality education—but we've come to realise that not every child is as fortunate.

In Pakistan, there’s a serious education crisis. More than 26 million children are out of school, not because they don’t want to learn, but because they simply can’t. For many families, access to schools is limited, and where schools do exist, they often lack quality resources or trained teachers.

This summer, we're proud to be a part of The Citizens Foundation (TCF) Ambassadors of Change Programme. TCF is an incredible organisation that is transforming lives through education. They’ve built over 2,000 school units across urban slums and rural areas of Pakistan—places where children had no schools before.

Today, TCF provides education to more than 301,000 children across the country. One of the most inspiring aspects of their model is that they employ only women as teachers and principals—14,700 in total—making them Pakistan’s largest private employer of women.
