Hi, I'm Sedra, and I would like to tell you a story about the average child in Pakistan.

They wake up before the sun rises, not to catch a school bus, but to fetch water. Their classroom, if they have one at all, has broken walls, barely any books, and a teacher who’s trying to manage 40 students with one piece of chalk.

Most days, they dream more than they learn.

And for millions of them, even dreaming feels like a luxury.

Out of every 10 children in Pakistan, 4 never make it to school at all. 3 are enrolled, but they’re years behind in reading and writing. Only 3 are learning at the level they should be. Do you understand what that means? That 7/10 kids in Pakistan don't receive a proper education. That ONLY 3/10 get a proper education. 

What if your child had to walk past broken glass and silence their dreams, just to maybe learn the alphabet? You won the lottery the day you were born into a life with books, backpacks, and bell schedules. They didn’t. Every day, a child’s dream gets smaller because no one shows up for them. I want to change that. This isn’t about charity. It’s about justice. It’s about giving children what should have been theirs from the start.

Can you imagine being seven years old and already believing the world has no room for your dreams? Not because you don’t have potential, but because you were born into the wrong neighborhood, the wrong income bracket, the wrong kind of luck?

But there’s hope, and that’s what The Citizens Foundation stands for.

TCF builds real schools in some of the toughest areas of Pakistan. They don’t just open doors, they change lives. They make sure girls get equal chances, teachers are trained, and students are learning. They have doubled their impact in the last 10 years. With 2033 school units, 301,000 students enrolled, and 63,000 graduates. They also have 3,700 vocational trainees, 14,700 all-female faculty members, and 221,000 adult literacy learners. 

This summer, I joined the Ambassadors of Change Programme because I couldn’t bear to be another person who just feels bad and scrolls past. I wanted to do something.

And now, I’m asking you to do something too. I am to raise 10,000 AED and hopefully surpass that. With 100 AED, you can put 2 students in education for a month. But of course any small amount counts.
