Gulf For Good Ethiopia 2024 Challenge

CHARITY PROJECT:

RAEY of Hope, a registered Australian Charity, supports the RAEY School and Community in Yerer, Ethiopia, with a focus on education, health, and social welfare. The organization offers an enhanced curriculum and supplementary classes in various subjects like music, art, and geography to provide an excellent education to students and the wider RAEY community.

They conduct 2-3 medical missions annually to monitor the health of the RAEY School community, focusing on HIV-related illnesses and other infectious diseases. They promote immunization and a nutrient-rich diet while managing acute illnesses. Their programs aim to empower the school community and reduce poverty by involving guardians and the wider community in educational and sustainable projects. They provide hope and opportunities for a life free from poverty to each student and their families.

 FUNDRAISING:

Each participant is tasked with raising a minimum of AED5,000 (USD1,360) to support this project and, together, change the lives of these children and families.

This challenge is held in association with local not-for-profit Gulf for Good, whose purpose is to change the lives of underprivileged children around the world.

The breakdown of how donations are distributed are as follows:

- 75% of funds raised go to the RAEY Foundation

- 15% of funds raised go to Gulf for Good (not-for-profit in the UAE and registered UK charity) for their sustainability

- 10% of funds raised go to International Humanitarian City for their emergency response work
