Terry Fox Run at UAS
United Arab Emirates

Story

Despite Terry Fox’s cancer (osteosarcoma) diagnosis in 1977 and an amputated right leg, he never stopped running and began the Marathon of Hope across his home country for Canada and raised $24.17 million at the time of his death to cancer in 1981. He was not able to finish the marathon across the country, but even till the end, his drive was relentless and he did whatever he could to finish his mission. Unfortunately, millions across the world are still affected and die from cancer, so we as a human race must carry on his mission and do whatever we can to help these people. While we may just be humble high school students, we cannot ignore the unavoidable pain that these people go through, and we decided that we should do our part as humans, however big or small.
