My story
My name is Chandni and this year, I've committed to running my very first 10K, the Orta 10x10 in Italy on August 12th, and I'm doing it for a cause that means a great deal to me.
A 3-year-old girl lives with her small family of four. She suffers from a rare and painful condition known as inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor - a disease that attacks the muscles and tissues, causing severe pain and multiple health complications. It requires urgent and specialized treatment.
The cost of treatment amounts to AED 70,000, a sum that exceeds her family's financial means. Her father works a job with a monthly salary of AED 6,000, which barely covers the family’s basic living expenses and is not nearly enough to afford the high cost of medical care.
Cancer is a condition that touches millions of lives, not just those diagnosed, but the families, friends and caregivers who support them. I lost my dad to cancer when I was 12. And while it’s been years, I carry the weight of that loss every single day. He faced his battle with incredible strength, and this fundraiser is my way of honoring his memory while standing beside others navigating the same fight.
As I celebrate my birthday on July 17th, I invite you to join me in offering a gesture of hope and support to those who need it most. I'm incredibly grateful for your support, whether it's a donation, sharing this page, or simply cheering me on from afar on August 12th!
Thank you for being part of this journey with me!
